Crews from at least seven Wake County fire units responded to a fully-involved fire at a Cary home Thursday night. Officials said dispatchers originally received a report of an explosion in a driveway but arrived at the home at 220 Brookridge Drive to find it engulfed in flames. Fairview Volunteer Fire Department Chief Barry Spain said about 70 percent of the 4,600 square foot, two-story home was engulfed in flames when crews arrived at the scene. Firefighters said the fire was put out around 11 p.m.
