First responders from two different departments responded to two accidents close to each other on a local highway that happened minutes apart. An accident Tuesday night involving at least one vehicle blocked off traffic on Highway 11 in Winterville near Reedy Branch Road. It happened just after 6:00 p.m. and the vehicle landed on its side. Winterville Fire-Rescue-EMS responded to the accident and one tow truck was able to remove the vehicle from the highway around 7:00 p.m. There is no word yet what may have caused the accident and if there were any injuries. A second, separate accident also occurred less than 200 yards away on Highway 11, and first responders say it happened just minutes after the first wreck.
