As crews from Asheville Fire Station 6 and Rescue Station 3 walked through Milkco on Wednesday, they took notes and asked questions. One firefighter jotted down locations of hazards and areas within the facility on a map; including where sprinkler system hook-ups are located, and how many employees are working at any given time.
The information they gather during this walk through will help them and other crews in case there is ever an emergency at this West Asheville business and any other building they survey.
This pre-plan, as its called, is not a new idea.
When asked, Captain Bjorn Larson removed a massive binder from a book case back at Station 6 and opened it to show how pre-plan information was recorded in the past.
