A fire broke out at a home in Buncombe County on Thursday afternoon.
Right now, arson investigators are still working to determine how it started and if it was set intentionally.
Neighbor Chris Benham said it was around 3:30 when he noticed something wasn't right at his neighbor's house.
"When I pulled up in my yard, I see a lot of smoke coming out of there like there was a fireplace that had a lot of leaves in it or something," Benham said.
The smoke isn't what caught his eye, though.
"When I pulled up, the truck that lives there was leaving," Benham said.
Benham's lived on Lovett Falls Lane for 19 years now.
The house that caught fire is one he's pretty familiar with. "My parents used to own the house, but my mom passed away and my dad had to get rid of it. He couldn't handle the memories of it," Benham said.
Benham said his dad moved out about four years ago, and he doesn't talk to his new neighbors much.
"I know there was an old man that lived there, and there was a couple," he added.
But, Garren Creek Fire Chief Wade Wright said they didn't find anyone at home when they got there.
