The North Carolina Forest Service has named a new assistant county ranger in McDowell.
Luke Glenn, 23, accepted the position in March of this year and has hit the ground running.
“I really enjoy working in McDowell County and this is where I’m from and where I love,” said Glenn. “Getting to work in this county was like it was meant to be when I applied for the job. We are here to serve and help the people of McDowell County.”
Glenn is a 2014 graduate of McDowell Early College. He then went out to pursue a forestry management degree from Haywood Community College. He graduated from there in the spring of 2017.
“I was really fortunate and blessed to roll right into this a year after graduating from college,” said Glenn. “I know there a lot of people with a lot more experience, but I am always willing to take advice and learn from people.
