Officials say eight people suffered minor injuries in a house fire in Charlotte early Saturday morning. According to the Charlotte Fire Department, the incident happened in the 800 block of Chelwood Place. Crews say eight people were in the house and all got out safely, but were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There was a heavy fire at rear of the house and firefighters controlled the fire in 27 minutes. The fire was determined to be accidental that started in the storage room. Officials say smoke alarms where present. The fire left an estimated $40,000 worth of damage.
