Firefighters worked for almost an hour to free a woman from the wreckage of her car along a winding road in Eugene's South Hills on Wednesday morning.
Fox Hollow Road below Willamette Street is back open after the emergency response.
But firefighters worked for 45 minutes to an hour pulling the injured woman from the wreckage of her car.
A helicopter transported the woman from the scene to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield.
"Yeah, a little bit unusual," said Lance Lighty, battlion chief with Eugene Springfield Fire. "We had two fire engines, we actually had two truck companies just because of the lengthy extrication, adding some extra tools and resources, rotate crews through. It's pretty hard work cutting a car apart."
Authorities said no on witnessed the crash. A passerby came upon the scene and called for help.
It appeared the car went off the road and hit a tree.
The Lane County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
