Officials say one person was hospitalized in a fire at a downtown Portland apartment building Thursday morning. Crews were called to the scene at the Park Plaza Apartments in the 1900 block of SW Park Avenue around 10:30 a.m. KATU News crews at the scene spotted smoke damage outside a top floor apartment. Officials on scene say one person was hospitalized with unknown injuries. KATU talked with the roommate of the man injured in the fire. He says his roommate didn’t wake up initially from the smoke alarm and came out of his room with burns all over his body.
