A neighbor spotted a fire in a garage and awoke the residents early Thursday morning.
No one was injured. Firefighters confined the blaze to a garage workshop used for making alterations.
The neighbor spotted the fire before 6 a.m. and started knocking on the door, Lane Fire Authority said.
"At this point the house has not been affected, it's just the garage and shop area of the house," Lt. Tressa Miller said.
Kent Robbins, who lives in the home, expressed gratitude to his neighbor.
