Sweet Home Fire assists in possible downed plane rescue, reports remain unconfirmed

A missing plane report at about 2:45 p.m. Thursday scrambled rescue crews from the Mohawk Valley and Sweet Home fire districts, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office. Linn Undersheriff Jim Yon said the two districts are responding to reports of a possible downed plane in the area between Upper Calapooia Drive and Marcola Road, south of Sweet Home in Lane County. Sweet Home Fire confirms five personnel and a rescue truck were dispatched to the area. As of 6 p.m., the crash remains unconfirmed. We will have more information as details emerge.
