A Portland Fire and Rescue engine was struck in the wheel well by a car at Northeast Weidler Street and Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard early Friday morning while it was responding to a commercial fire. Officials say the crew on Engine 13 was responding to a reported fire at Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Northeast Davis Street at 3:44 when the vehicle was struck. The driver of the car involved in the crash refused EMS care. None of the firefighters were injured in the crash. Portland Police Bureau will investigate the crash to determine who had the right-of-way.
