The Sunriver Service District didn’t have to look too far to fill the city’s police and fire chief positions.
The district board approved employment contracts Tuesday for former Redmond Fire Chief Tim Moor and former Bend Police Capt. Cory Darling, who recently served as the interim Sunriver police chief.
Darling is scheduled to start as Sunriver police chief July 1. Moor will start as Sunriver fire chief July 16.
Both will earn an annual salary of $109,100.
They were finalists for the positions and went through three separate interviews and a meet-and-greet with Sunriver residents.
Moor worked full time with Redmond Fire & Rescue since 1992, but first joined the department as a volunteer in 1981.
He served as fire chief in Redmond since 2007, when he was promoted within the department from his position as division chief.
