A teen on a bicycle got pinned underneath an SUV in a parking lot near Sheldon High School just as class let out for the day Friday, Eugene Police said. Police said units responded at 3:28 p.m. to the parking lot northeast of the intersection of Coburg Road and Willakenzie Avenue. Crews found a 13-year-old boy and his bicycle pinned under a Toyota FJ Cruiser, police said. Firefighters and police worked to free the boy from the wreckage. He was taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive his injuries, police said. "The timing of this incident caused significant traffic challenges for incoming units and motorists in the area," police said in a statement. "Area citizens and students leaving school were thankfully patient with EPD units as they facilitated incoming Fire apparatus, and getting the patient transported away from the scene."
