After 40-year career in the fire service, firefighter Ray Carrillo passed away earlier this month from pneumonia.
Carrillo was an active member of the Wolf Creek Fire Department, a small team composed of five volunteers.
Wolf Creek Fire Chief Steve Scruggs said Carrillo was an integral part of their department.
“He was there ‘Give me a job, I’ll do it’…’Just tell me what you want, I’ll make it happen’ and he always did it with a smile," Scruggs said. "He never complained of pain. He never complain of being unhappy… always smiling."
First responders from Josephine County and Jackson County came together in Grants Pass for an emergency services funeral procession in Carrillo's honor.
