GOLDEN VALLEY -
Fire Fighters from Golden Valley Fire District (GVFD) Stations 11, 12 and 13, and Battalion Chief/Fire Marshal David Martin, responded at 8:08 p.m., on Monday, to a structure located at Tapeats Drive and Road Road.

When firefighters arrived on scene a few minutes after receiving the call, the single-wide mobile home was already fully engulfed in flames. The firefighters immediately deployed their fire hoses and began “knocking down” the fire.

Upon learning that two people resided in the home, the firefighters entered the burning structure in hopes of finding survivors.

Once inside, the firefighters determined there were no people in the mobile home when the fire began; however, did find two dogs. One dog was obvisously dead, but they believed the larger dog to be still alive. The firefighters carried the large dog outside and began CPR one it, but they were unable to revive the dog.

They noticed two quad ATVs, a fifth-wheel and two pickups parked near the mobile home, but the fire had not spread to any of the vehicles or fifth-wheel trailer that parked adjacent to the mobile home.

Nine fire fighters remained on scene until 10:45 p.m. to ensure the fire did not reignight and to interview the residents who returned about an hour and a half after the fire started.

The single-wide moble home was completely distroyed, but the firefighters were able to protect the two pickups and ATVs from burning.

The exact origin and cause of the fire is curenlty under investigation by GVFD officials.
