The City of Ketchum is seeking an Assistant Chief who will also serve as the city’s Fire Marshal. The ideal candidate will have a background in community risk reduction and fire prevention as well as a history of progressively responsible operational positions.
The Assistant Chief is an FLSA-exempt position, reporting to the Fire Chief. The Assistant Chief supervises operational staff, responds to incidents as command officer, instructs the public and fire staff, and provides technical expertise on fire related topics. The Assistant Chief inspects buildings, reviews plans, reviews and advises on codes, enforces codes and investigates related complaints. The Assistant Chief may also plan, supervise and implement Community Risk Reduction programs in areas other than fire prevention.
