Our service area is the entire Warm Springs Indian Reservation; we are governed by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. The confederated Tribes consist of three tribes The Warm Springs, Wasco and Paiute Indians. The reservation has a population of approx. 3700 people, spread over and area of 580,000 Acres. We cover approx. 40 miles of US Highway 26. And are bordered by the Deschutes river on one side and Cascade Mountains on the other. Warm Springs is considered mostly rural with small communities in different areas.
Our call volume averages around 1800 calls annually. We have a wide variety of calls not only typical medical or fire calls but also include unique opportunities to participate in Search and Rescue missions, River Rescue and Major wildfires in the summer. So we stay pretty busy. We have 18 full time Staff with usually 5 to 10 Part time Fire Medics that we use as extra coverage or to fill in. We rotate through 3 manned Stations. 24/7.
