Lakeport Fire Protection District

Location: Lakeport, CA

Lakeport Fire District is an independent, all-risk fire district located in the county seat of Lake County on the west shore of Clear Lake, California’s largest natural fresh-water lake. The District provides fire protection and ALS ambulance service to the citizens in the unincorporated and incorporated areas of Lakeport. The Lakeport Fire Protection District is seeking a proven leader to serve as its Fire Chief. The ideal candidate will have a balance of technical skills and personal attributes, capable of organizing and directing staff to accomplish the goals established by the District. Any combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying. The typical candidate will possess the equivalent to an Associate degree from an accredited college with major course work in fire technology, public administration, or a closely related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible fire service supervisory or management experience including three (3) years at the rank of Captain or higher-level supervisory experience. The Fire Chief will possess a valid California Driver’s License and be insurable. The Fire Chief will continuously reside within a reasonable driving time from the Main Station, within six months of appointment The monthly salary range for the Fire Chief is $9,022.39 - $10,459.42; salary appointment will be based on qualifications and experience. 5% COLA increase effective July 1, 2023.  The District also offers an attractive benefits package.
