Bates Technical College's Fire Service Training program has provided the Puget Sound region with highly qualified firefighter candidates for more than 50 years. With consistent waitlists, our fire service program works with regional fire departments to provide their newly hired firefighters with their initial training academy. The college also offers online classes for those working in the field who seek additional knowledge, a degree, or are part of an apprenticeship program.
Upon graduation, students are prepared to enter into the fire service with an IFSAC FF I, Haz Mat Awareness and Operations, Wildland Red Card, Emergency Vehicle Incident Prevention (in place of CDL in Washington), and a Nationally Registered EMT.
