VIDEO - Police said a man stole his ex-girlfriend's car and drove it into a utility pole, set fire to her home and then climbed on the roof and danced during a standoff. Police said they found 25-year-old Matthew Russ sitting in a chair in his ex-girlfriend's driveway holding a butcher knife. Police shot at him with rubber bullets, then Russ retreated back into the home. A short time later, smoke was seen coming from the house, and Russ emerged on the roof. The police department's crisis negotiators tried to coax him from his second-story perch. Even when flames broke through the rooftop, Russ ignored the danger in front and behind him. Fearing that they had just about run out of time, police once again shot Russ with rubber bullets and a stun gun. Police then used a ladder to retrieve the incapacitated man from the roof and lowered him to the ground.
