Police are trying to sort out the circumstances surrounding a crash involving an Exeter Township Fire Department utility vehicle and a well-drilling truck.
The crash was reported shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday on an icy stretch of Shelbourne Road, between Wingspread Drive and Rugby Road, in Exeter Township.
The fire vehicle was responding to a medical call at the Walmart at the time of the crash, police said.
Four people were transported to Reading Hospital, according to police, who had no information about the extent of the victims' injuries.
The crash created quite a mess, with the truck spilling diesel fuel onto the road. The cleanup kept Shelbourne Road closed for several hours.
