VIDEO: A man has been taken into custody after a massive fire that destroyed a house in Hamilton Township on Friday afternoon.
According to the Hamilton Township fire chief, crews were dispatched to a fire and a man with a gun in the 800 block of Sunrise Ridge Court around 2 p.m. The man proceeded to have a standoff with police for around an hour before firefighters could begin to knock down the flames.
Once police took the man into custody, fire officials worked to contain the blaze, though the fire chief said the house is a complete loss.
The fire chief also said that a woman was inside the house, but left when the fire started. There were no injuries in the fire.
Houses on both sides of the house on fire sustained damage as well.
At this time, police have not identified the man taken into custody.
