PHOTOS/VIDEO: Two medics were rushed to a hospital Thursday night after their ambulance flipped and crashed into a restaurant in southwest Houston. It happened a little after 10:30 p.m. when the Houston Fire Department was called to a motor vehicle accident on S Gessner near Westpark Tollway. It’s unclear what exactly caused the crash, but officers with the Houston Police Department said it appears the private ambulance was headed southbound on Gessner when it changed lanes and hit a restaurant’s exterior before flipping. Responding crews came across the ambulance landed on its side and saw the two medics operating the ambulance were trapped inside the cab. Firefighters were able to extricate the medics in about 20 minutes from the ambulance.
