A massive fire has been burning for hours at a warehouse in Elizabeth, New Jersey, sending smoke into the sky that can be seen for miles.
More than 100 firefighters are working to get the flames under control, but officials say the blaze could burn into the weekend.
"We're going to be here for many hours today, if not days, fighting this fire," Elizabeth Mayor Chris Bollwage explained. "This fire is going to burn out from the outside, there's no way that we can get firefighters inside the building."
The fire broke out early Friday morning at the Elizabeth Industrial Park on Trumbull Street. It's located along the city's waterfront near the Mills at Jersey Gardens mall and Newark Liberty International Airport.
Authorities said a passerby spotted the fire and called for help around 5:30 a.m. The flames quickly spread, causing part of the building to collapse.
