VIDEO/PHOTOS: A West Warwick fire engine crashed through a station on Sunday. Officials said no one was hurt. Station 2, located at 834 Main St., was roped off with crime scene tape. According to West Warwick Battalion Chief Eric Norberg a door on the side of the truck popped open as the fire engine was leaving the station on a call. "It's under hydraulic springs or pistons. When they left it was closed, and when they started to proceed on the emergency response it did open," Norberg said. As the truck moved forward it continued to pull on the side of the building, so the driver stopped to lessen the extent of damage. According to Norberg the overhead garage door also came down on the truck, but officials said it suffered little damage and although it was taken out of service, they expect it to be operational soon. Station 2, where the accident happened, is one of four in town, so the rescue truck normally house at Station 2 has been temporarily moved to the Natick Station about a mile away.
