About the Daily Dispatch

The Daily Dispatch (aka the DD) can be summed up perfectly as “Daily News for America’s Fire Service.” It’s a FREE electronic newsletter distributed each weekday and features timely and relevant state-specific news, national news, job announcements, events, and more. Proudly produced by Western Fire Chiefs Association and recognized by all seven U.S. Divisions of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the DD is distributed to thousands of fire service members at all levels and ranks.

DD staff hand-select content from leading fire service organizations, news outlets, TV, radio and online sources to provide abbreviated content that focuses on the highlights of the day. Each edition of the DD is compiled specifically for the state in which it is published and provides regional focus through articles and content chosen for its relevance to the local reader. The DD has expanded to provide news for all 50 states plus Guam / Micronesia and now includes a Wildland edition that highlights wildland firefighting across the U.S. 

While the vast majority of DD readers are part of the fire service, the newsletter is free and open for anyone to subscribe to state(s) of interest. Today, more than ever, staying connected and informed is vital to keeping up-to-date on industry developments and trends. The DD is here to help you and your department do just that.
