VIDEO: The Falcon's Ridge Community is located along the Park's Highway, close to the area where the McKinley fire began. After flames jumped the roadway, four neighbors banded together using gardening tools to hold off the fire until help could arrive. At one point, flames came within a few hundred yards of some homes, but the group was ultimately able to defend all 30 cabins in their neighborhood. Many homes in the surrounding area were damaged and destroyed. A fundraiser has been planned for October 11th at the Willow Community Center from 5-8 p.m., to help raise money for those impacted by the fire.
