Alaska Wildlife Troopers and Central Emergency Services personnel rescued an injured hunter Thanksgiving morning. According to a dispatch, state troopers were notified around 6 p.m. Wednesday that the hunter — Michael Glover of Sterling — had left in the morning, but hadn’t returned even after nightfall. Wildlife troopers, CES fire personnel and a helicopter from the Rescue Coordination Center searched for Glover in Sterling’s Swanson River area. Glover was found with an injured ankle, unable to walk, at around 5 a.m. Firefighters extracted him from the area and took him to a Kenai Peninsula area hospital for treatment, the dispatch said.
