The Guntersville Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit came together with other Marshall County first responders to demonstrate the aftermath of a 2-car crash for students at Guntersville High School. The other responders included Guntersville Fire and Rescue, Marshall EMS, Air Evac, and the Marshall County Coroner's Office. Two vehicles donated by Lake City Auto and Whitaker Towing were set up on the GHS track at the GHS football stadium. Students from all grades were able to watch the simulated response to a fatal two-vehicle collision caused by a drunk driver. The simulation even included students in the vehicles to enact what it would be like to be involved in that type of collision.
