A Jasper firefighter has been reprimanded after an incident during a high school career day in Walker County. The fireman allegedly used profanity and inappropriate language in front of two students who were visiting the Jasper Fire Department. Jasper Mayor David O'Mary says Groundhog Job Shadow Day brings out hundreds of students to visit different workplaces across the county. The students come from Jasper City Schools, Walker County Schools, and Sumiton Christian Academy. Two students chose to shadow the firefighters. O'Mary says a few days after the event, the father of one of the students called to report the incident. "Maybe 3 or 4 instances of profanity as they talked about firefighting or whatever, probably a couple of lewd statements," said O'Mary regarding the parent's report. "I have not proved any of this, but I've talked with the firefighter, and I think there is some accuracy to it."
