A fire destroyed the children’s building at Lifepoint Ministries Thursday night Albertville Assistant Fire Chief Jason Beam said a fire was reported at Lifepoint at approximately 8:30 p.m. Beam said when firefighters arrived, the education and children's building was fully involved and the roof had collapsed. Beam said the building was unoccupied and there were no firefighter injuries. On Friday morning co-lead pastor Matt Brooks was on site to meet with investigators while co-lead pastor Quinton Williams was meeting with the staff to map out a plan for recovery. “It’s overwhelming … there was a lot of damage,”?Brooks said. “I?don’t think God lost control. God is sovereign and in control. I?think God had a plan. It’s sad. My children grew up in that building. I?see this as an opportunity.” For the immediate future, Brooks said Sunday gatherings would be conducted at the Albertville Fine Arts Center on the campus of Albertville High School on Sunday.
