Volunteer firefighters from three fire departments battled a house fire Monday in northern Covington County. It happened Monday afternoon on Wagon Wheel Road, which borders Gantt Lake on Highway 29 North. By the time firefighters arrived, the home was gone. The Covington County Sheriff’s Department told WSFA 12 News no one was in the home at the time and at this point, there are no clear answers on what started the fire.
