A man was killed Monday morning when he was struck by a tree limb. Authorities identified the victim as Kenny Tidwell. He was 40 and lived in Coker. Northport police and firefighters responded about 8 a.m. to 4409 Cloverdale Estates on a report of an accidental death, said Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Kip Hart. They pronounced Tidwell dead on the scene. Hart said Tidwell was about 60 feet up in a tree cutting a limb when it struck him.
