Five Fort Rucker active duty military men elected to use their off-time to take advantage of a Wallace Community College Emergency Medical Services course offered to them through their departments. Capt. Abraham Johnson and military firefighters Owen Connor, Noah Gonzales, Steven Gonzales, and Michael Stewart were routed from the cold, the dusty, and the lively meccas of the U.S. to the green hills and slow pace of southeast Alabama. When the EMS course was advertised through their military detachment, the four volunteered for various personal reasons, but all were interested in the benefits of earning a nationally-accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate, at the finale of their coursework – pending a passing score.
