A homeless man who had recently been paroled for intentionally setting two fires has been charged with setting another fire Thursday that destroyed a historic downtown Dothan building. Police arrested 28-year old Richard L. Snodgrass late Friday and charged him with burning down the old Supreme Meadow Gold plant that closed in the 1980's. Police said they removed two homeless people from the building only hours before fire erupted A police source tells WTVY neither was Snodgrass, though he may have slept in the building at other times. In November 2018 a Houston County judge sentenced Snodgrass to five years for setting the two other fires in downtown Dothan. He received credit for 325 days spent in jail awaiting trial. His release date from prison is not immediately known. Snodgrass, on the latest arson charge, is held without bond.
