Slocomb Fire-rescue extinguished a large outdoor fire Saturday. According to Slocomb Fire Department, the fire was on Davis Mill Road near County Road 91. Fire officials found 20 acres of planted pine trees on fire upon arrival. It took about one hour and a half to control. Fadette Fire, Malvern fire, and Alabama Forestry Commission also responded to the call. One firefighter was treated on scene for heat exhaustion. There were no other injuries reported.
