According to Guntersville Fire Chief Brian Waldrop, at 8:33 a.m. the Guntersville Fire Department was dispatched to Pilgrim's Pride for a male hit by an elevator. “The fire department on scene discovered an employee to be pulseless and not breathing with visible head trauma,” Waldrop stated. “Fire medics began resuscitative efforts and assisted efforts with MHS ambulance crew to Marshall Medical Center North ER.” Waldrop said the man was pronounced dead after continued resuscitated efforts failed. According to employees, the freight elevator had fallen three floors with the man, a forklift and a pallet of goods. He said the man was neither trapped, nor extrication needed. Later Monday afternoon, the Marshall County Coroner's Office identified the man as Gabriel Seth Brutley, 35, of Albertville.
