Funeral arrangements have been announced for Homewood Fire and Rescue Service Chief John Alan Bresnan, who died unexpectedly at work on Friday.
Visitation for the 58-year-old Bresnan, the longest-serving fire chief in Jefferson County, will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., in Rosewood Hall at Homewood City Hall, Homewood Mayor Scott McBrayer announced Saturday night.
Bresnan’s full-honors funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Homewood Church of Christ. A procession will immediately follow from the church to burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood is directing the services.
In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, memorials honoring Bresnan may be directed to the Australian Wildfires, Marine Life Conservation, or to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, McBrayer said.
