PHOTOS: Multiple first responder agencies were called to assist in a large industrial facility fire in Brent Saturday morning.
The Brent Volunteer Fire Department reported on social media firefighters were called to a fire at Sims Bark Company off Highway 5 at 4:30 a.m. Saturday. The Brent VFD published photos that showed huge flames from all around the facility.
Crews were able to contain the fire at about 9 a.m.
According to a website, Sims Bark is a manufacturing facility that provides mulch and soil. It's unclear the extent of the damage, but photos taken in the daylight suggest severe damage to structures at that site. Agencies that assisted came from Centreville, Montevallo, Maplesville, West Blocton, Duncanville, and several others.
