Firefighters from the Tucson Fire Department extinguished a garage fire at an east-side home on Tuesday, April 23. According to information from the fire department, crews were dispatched to the 5700 block of East Seneca Street at 5:38 a.m. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from a garage that was attached to the home. The occupants of the house escaped into the backyard, but were trapped there until firefighters could clear a path to a safer location. Crews extinguished the fire before it could spread to the house. No injuries were reported. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
