Police and firefighters worked together to help a local family that recently suffered a house fire have a memorable Christmas. The Wheeler family has been staying with relatives since its Anthem home burned on Dec. 20. On Christmas Day, fire and police personnel arrived to where the family was staying and delivered Christmas gifts to the children. The kids also got a personal tour of a Florence Fire Department ladder truck. It was a memorable day for both kids as they smiled and hugged police officers and firefighters. Town Manager Brent Billingsley said, “This is what Christmas is all about, giving to those in their time of need. What a wonderful experience for the Wheeler family and for our community.”
