Authorities are attempting to identify a body located in a burning structure early Sunday morning in Pomerene. The fire at the home at 1456 N. Pomerene Road was reported at about 1 a.m., said Cochise County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carol Capas. Crews were inside the home battling the blaze when they discovered the body in one of the bedrooms. Firefighters back tracked out of the home at that point, “doing an excellent job of preserving evidence and maintaining the scene for investigators,” explained Capas. CCSO received notification at about 3 a.m. at which point investigators and deputies responded to the scene.
