Mescal-J6 Firefighters Association is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the culprit who burglarized the volunteer department’s station on Tuesday. That’s according to a Jan. 8 post on the department’s facebook page from Mescal-J6 Fire Chief John Moran. Entry was gained Jan. 8 at the station at 448 N. Warren Road between 2:50 and 3:15 p.m., while the on duty crew was out on an errand, the post states. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, with a very thin build, early to mid 20s with short, dark blonde hair. He was seen wearing blue jeans and carrying a large black backpack with possibly a blue bedroll tied beneath it.
