PHOTO: The Buckskin Fire District’s rescue boat sank to the bottom of the Colorado River Friday while firefighters were responding to a boat fire. According to the La Paz County Sheriff’s Department, firefighters were putting out a boat fire near Bluewater Lagoon when the Buckskin fire boat began taking on water. When the firefighters realized the pump was routing water improperly, they hurried to the shoreline as the boat became completely submerged. No injuries were reported during the incident. The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release it will loan a jet boat to the Buckskin Fire Department until the vessel can be replaced or repaired.
