PHOTO: Arizona reported 50 new known deaths and 723 additional COVID-19 cases Thursday as hospitals continue to report gradually fewer patients hospitalized for the disease. Inpatient hospitalizations, ICU beds in use, ventilators in use and ER visits for COVID-19 have all been on general downward trends over about the past five weeks, according to hospital data reported to the state. Identified cases rose to 196,280 and known deaths totaled 4,684, according to the daily report by the Arizona Department of Health Services. The 50 new known deaths reported Thursday represent the new deaths identified by the Arizona Department of Health Services that day, but many occurred days and weeks prior. Thursday's dashboard shows 83% of inpatient beds and 78% of ICU beds in use, which includes people being treated for COVID-19 and other patients.
