Officials kicked off Final Four week in Glendale Monday morning, touting the teamwork it takes to plan a big event like this. Police chiefs, fire chiefs and even Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs gathered near State Farm Stadium to talk about the public safety preps underway. "All eyes will be on Arizona this weekend around the men's Final Four tournament," said Jay Parry, the CEO of the Phoenix Local Organizing Committee.
They tell 12News the goal is to create a fun and safe environment for the roughly 80,000 fans expected to attend the festivities. Leading up to the games, which start Saturday, there will be a fan fest and music fest in downtown Phoenix. There will also be an NCAA basketball All-Star game. First responders say if you see something out of the ordinary don't be afraid to say something.
