VIDEOS: A shooting in a west Phoenix neighborhood ended in a fiery car crash that left one man dead and another hurt on Thursday afternoon.
Just after 1 p.m., Phoenix police were called to the collision near 67th Avenue and Fillmore Street. As officers arrived on scene, they found 19-year-old David Juarez had crashed into several parked cars, causing at least two cars to burst into flames. Phoenix firefighters quickly put out the fire, but Juarez died at the scene. A passenger was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries related to the collision.
Arizona’s Family news chopper witnessed extensive damage to several cars in the neighborhood. One car was completely burned, while three other cars were also mangled. Another car appeared to have rear-ended a van parked in a driveway.
