Fairfield firefighters, with mutual aid from Vacaville and Cordelia, battled a two-alarm structure fire Monday at a home in Cordelia.
Crews responded to the a the blaze at the home on 820 Spindrift Place after receiving multiple calls to the home at around 12:54 p.m. The residents were home at the time of the fire and were not injured.
Firefighters were hindered in their efforts by the number of items cluttered throughout the interior of the home as well as the garage, and backyard. John Sturdee, Battalion Chief with the Fairfield Fire Department, said the fire started on the exterior of the house and extended into the home.
“We had access issues because of all the clutter inside and the car on the side of the house plus another in the backyard,” said Sturdee.
