South Lake Tahoe firefighter is reportedly attacked in attempted carjacking

A man was arrested after he allegedly picked a fight with an off-duty firefighter and tried high-jacking his car with his son still inside, according to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department. Jacob Lewis, 27, was arrested on charges including attempted carjacking and kidnapping and battery. The incident was reported at about 5 p.m. Jan. 8 near Emerald Bay, just north of Lake Tahoe Boulevard, police said in a news release on Wednesday. The victim, who at the time was an off-duty firefighter for the South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue, said an unknown man stepped in front of his vehicle while he was traveling on Emerald Bay Road.
