Three new personnel were recognized Wednesday at a Red Bluff Fire badge pinning ceremony at City Hall, where one was promoted to engineer and two were sworn in as full-time firefighters.
“These guys have worked hard to get here,” said Chief Ray Barber. “They’ve put in the time and effort and come in on their days off for engineer training.”
Sworn in as an engineer was Uriah Harris. Cody Mahrt and Dave Robb were sworn in as full-time firefighters.
Harris was the first full-time firefighter for the department, Barber said. Previously, there had been two engineers and a captain who were full-time employees with a reserve firefighter rounding out the fourth member of the crew.
Capt. Matthew Shobash praised Harris.
“His second shift, we had a structure fire and he did a superb job,” Shobash said. “He took direction, but also when I needed something handed to me it already started without waiting for me to ask for it. He also inspired me to go back to school.”
